Warren Harvey is the pastor of Ambassador Presbyterian Church, one of our co-hosts of the upcoming marriage conference. He recently sent a note to the men of his church that we wanted to pass along to you as well.

I want to encourage you as husbands, if you haven't already, to register you and your wife for the upcoming He Said, She Said Marriage Conference we are co-sponsoring on January 24-25. (Deadline for registration is Jan. 16)
In my now many years of pastoral ministry, I have found that most struggles faced in marriage can be traced in some manner back to the issue of communication. If you're like me, you can always find ways to better communicate with your wife in a manner that reflects the grace and truth of Jesus and which strengthens your love for God and for her. This conference is a great opportunity to hear from noted counselor, author and speaker Dr. Ed Welch on this subject. You can be sure his insight will be biblical, gospel-centered, and practical. I'm confident that both you and your wife will be encouraged and equipped to further build intimacy and unity in your relationship through godly communication.
I'm writing to you as a husband because this is also a great opportunity to love your wife with a sanctifying love (Eph. 5:25-26) and to tangibly express your desire and commitment to growing and strengthening your marriage together in Christ. For the price of a ticket to your favorite sports event or a round of golf, you can make an eternal investment in the most important relationship you have on this earth.
We have intentionally scheduled the conference for a Friday night and Saturday morning so as to be sensitive to too much time away from kids. I realize that not everyone will be able to work out the details to attend. However, if you can, I would encourage you to make it a priority to come. Even if only one of you can make it, I think it would be beneficial, although I would urge you to try to attend together.
